Lebanon Raceway Harness Racing

Lebanon Raceway hosts the Ohio Sires Stakes every May. Meanwhile, live harness racing events are held from February to June and September to December. Post time is at 6:30pm.

Lebanon Raceway homestretch is 461 feet long and 64 feet wide. It has eight standing start positions. Its speed rating is 2:013. The grandstand can hold up to 3,000 spectators while its parking capacity is placed at 2,600 vehicles.

Its record handle was registered on 30 December 1988 at $463,255. The largest attendance ever recorded was 5,295 people on 8 April 1967.

Among the prominent horses that have raced at Lebanon Raceway are: Golly Too, holder of the fastest time for 2-yr. old trotters; Indian Fever, holder of the fastest time for 2-yr. old pacers; and Expensive Flight; holder of the fastest time for a 3-yr. old pacer.

Among the top trainers at Lebanon Raceway are Jeff Brewer, John Perrin, Tom Horner, Jr. and Keith Richeson. Among the top drivers are Sam Noble III, Jeff Fout, Jack Dailey and James Dailey.

New Harness Racing Facility

A joint venture of Churchill Downs, Inc. and Delaware North Companies Gaming and Entertainment called Miami Valley Gaming and Racing is building a new facility that includes a 5/8-mile (five-furlong) harness racing track in the corridors of I-75. The new facility is expected to open some time in 2014.
